SCREW THE AMPATUANS!

Sa Pilpinas iba talaga ang hustisya, ang mapepera ang naghuhusga.

I really shouldn't say a thing about the ampatuans, i don't have any deeper understanding on the whys and the hows of this Maguindanao massacre stuff, but i am just irritated by the way justice is served among the families of the victims.

i do not question the credibility of the judge who weighs the evidences, nor the prosecutors and other justice-seeking personalities involved in this matter.

it is just a super silly thing for me that after all what happened, lusot pa rin sila.

Hmf.

I pray for your soul! I really hope God still have merciful heart for you guys!

Ang pag-ulayaw sa dating araw

Nakalulungkot mang isipin, masakit mawalan ng isang taong naging kasangga mo sa matagal na panahon.

Nakakapanibago.

Mahirap gumalaw, nakakailang, lalo't nasanay ka nang lagi siyang nasa tabi mo — kundi nangungulit o nambuburaot eh humihingi ng payo.

Ngunit higit sa ano pa man, nakapanghihinayang...

I failed to blog the weariest thoughts i had this past few days, so i'm glad to be back!

tomorrow, together with my fellow editors and publication writers and staff, we'll be attending a presidential debate at the SMX Convention Center, MOA.

Noynoy, Villar, Gibo and Erap have confirmed their participation in the said debate.

Give me a couple of days guys, i'll be publishing a brief article re: the said debate.

Ang Malarong Gabi

Bago matulog, maririnig ang lagaslas ng tubig na marubdob na dumadaloy mula

sa gripo ng nawasa. Ilang sandali pa ay madarama na ang marahang pagsalok at pagdampi ng tubig sa katawan ng isang tao

tila napakaingat sa pagbasa.

Ngunit bago niya simulan ang sirimonyas ay pag-iigtingin muna niyang maigi ang init sa naturang silid parausan,( este paliguan. )

Ang kanyang kamay ay patuloy na maglalaro — isang walang sawang paglalaro. hindi titigil hangga't hindi pa niya nadarama ang tagumpay na pilit niyang inaasam sa mga sandaling yaon.

Patuloy ang paglikot ng kanyang kamay — animo'y napaka-bibo sa paulit ulit nitong gestura.

Taas. Baba. Taas. Baba. Nakakangawit ang kanyang ginagawa kaya naman di mo siya masisisi kung bakit papalit-palit ang kamay na kanyang ginagamit sa paglalaro.

Kaliwa. Kanan. Kaliwa. Kanan. Mayroon din namang pagkakataong pinagsasabay niya itong gamitin. Ngunit ang kanyang paborito ay sa tuwing pinaiikot niya ang pareho niyang mga kamay at sabay na ikekending ang kanyang bewang.

Sa wakas. Nanawa na rin siya. Isang malapot na likido na nasa kanyang mga palad ang tumapos sa kanyang panggigigil.

Napabuntong hininga sa labis na ginhawa. Nakapagpalobo na rin siya gamit ang bula.

Matapos ang makailang ulit na pagsasabon, aabutin ang tuwalyang nakatupi malapit sa pintuan ng banyo. Pupunasang bahagya ang katawan at hahayaang sipsipin ng animo'y tigang na tuwalya ang tubig na nananatiling nakaturay sa kanyang balat.

Isusuot nang muli ang pang-ibaba at ang kortong kanyang pantulog. Mauupo sa isang banda ng kama.

Aabutin niya ang isang basket na pulos bagay na sadya niyang gagamitin. Kukunin ang "facial toner" bahagyang iaplay sa kanyang mukha at leeg. Makailang ulit na makapag-aplay ay kukunin naman ang moisturizer ang agad itong ikakalat sa kanyang mukha.

Kukunin din niya ang botelya ng lotion at maglalagay din sa kanyang palad bago ito ikalat sa kanyang buong katawan. Itatabi ang lahat ng ginamit at siya'y mahihiga na.

Pupuwesto na animo'y nagbabadyang magpahinga, ngunit di pahihintulutan ng kanyang mga mata.

Wala siyang ibang magagawa kundi ang sundin ang undyuk ng kanyang isipan.

Kukunin ang kumot at ibabalot ang sarili. Mag-uunat at sisimulan na ang larong makapagpapatulog sa kanya ng tuluyan.

No matter how hard we try to impress other people, a portion of our pretext will always highlight the grim sides of our personas. And no matter how we try to cover such with another enigma, a part of it always stinks.

I am positive this time. The endeavor of TIP Voice in catering excellence is within reach. With the participation of the Supreme Student Government officers, and with their determination to give the best service they could, I am quite certain that this academic year would be the most fruitful of all; not minding the silent disparity between the TIP Voice staffers and SSG officers (or student council before), which resulted a tacit relationship between the said offices few years hence.*

After all, this year’s roster of leaders is somewhat noteworthy. For some of them are really empowered for service to others. The only thing that matters is the way they obtained power since most of them were appointed rather than elected thus failed to assume full student support and empowerment, which, I think, can only be obtained through constant practice of suffrage with the students as major partakers.

If these leaders beget power through the proper electoral processes, I believe they can do better things — perhaps considering their leadership capabilities and the students’ expectations that mandate them to do their responsibilities, working against great intervention or hesitation is never questionable for those who have assumed power by absolute practice of democracy.

The 6.2% lift of our school fees for this semester helped the school to acquire new gadgets and more advanced facilities useful for every TIPian.

Commendable renovations in different offices in both Arlegui and Casal Campuses were made.

Faculty rooms are bigger now, providing better workplaces for the mentors to work harder this time.

And, though the said renovations have made some classrooms narrower and some, smaller, we still expect higher results in the board examination performance — considering Dr. Lahoz’ call for the top ones in every board examination courses.

A part of the overwhelming performance of TIP in the most recent board examinations calls for continuation— more good news before the school approaches its 50^th anniversary and perhaps, consistency in terms of hitting the top.

The security and safety measures undertaken by the school in response to the booming threat of A (H1N1) deserve commendation.

With the modern gadgets used to detect body temperature that the school purchased, we can laud that TIP is never log behind not just by our counterparts in terms of health facilities that would give its students initial health protection despite its nature as a technological school that specializes in engineering and architecture and that starts to create its name in business — a proof that the school never compromises the health of its major stakeholders, the students.

But beyond the said measure, complaints regarding the acquisition of the said gadgets buzzed the campus. Some said it’s “LATE,” some even termed it “USELESS.”

But no matter how we perceive these things, students should always think that the gadgets might not have been immediately purchased, at least it was. Besides at times these gadgets are not yet around, the quick response of the school, with VPASS and A Soliven’s effort (not really certain, since she’s the only officer seen directing the security regarding this matter) begets appreciation. Yes, the early bird may catch the worm, but it is better late than never, right?

Many of us, especially the freshmen, have observed how clean TIP is compared to any other schools in Metro Manila.

The reason for that is the implementation of TIP’s 5S program, a campaign that encourages members of the school community to practice some steps to cleanliness, which primarily include health and sanitation, and garbage segregation.

But beyond the school’s effort to maintain cleanliness within its premises, a portion of the student population still misses the knowledge about the right way of maintaining a clean surrounding.

Trashcans are available in every corner — all are labeled with “PROPER WASTE DISPOSAL” and instructions about which can to trash the bio and the non-biodegradable.

Unfortunately, I had seen papers disposed to cans for non-bios. It just made me think if papers really don’t decompose, or students are just better than teachers who teach papers as composites?

Due to a hectic schedule, I haven’t watched any primetime T.V. program for several weeks now, but after the preliminary examinations, at least I have enough time to relax.

I have watched “May Bukas Pa,” an ABS-CBN’s top rated serye featuring Santino, an angelic boy who makes miracles upon praying to “Bro” (not certain if B is really capitalized).

I just wonder, if the Bible says that man cannot go beyond or even just go equal to God, why do these people used to call Him “Bro”?

Treating God as best friend is a point perhaps. But think of this: if we call the priests as “fathers” why do we call the Divine Creator and the Source of everything a brother? Think of your dad’s reaction when you just call him “brad” instead of “Dad.”

Many say that BS Accountancy is a hard course in college. It demands time, effort, concentration and dedication; perhaps that would be the reason why some of my teachers discourage me to write.

But I have many reasons to be thankful taking this course while writing for the TIP Voice. First, I learned to manage my time wisely to suit my schedules in acads and Voice . Second, I survive financially and academically. Third, I grow enough to bear more mature perceptions in life.

After all, it is what we are studying for; the proper assessment, utilization and distribution of what we have.

I have a golden objective upon graduation, but let me just keep it myself for now. But for as long as my thoughts flow, Dyarista’s quill will never part.

Socrates once said, “No evil happens to a good man.”

But no matter how hard we try to keep our clichéd nature mum there will come a time that people around us soon notice the things we used to fake.

Besides, a saying goes, “All good things never last.”

The street tragedy and the obvious apathy

"If all the voices are heard, surely, no one will shout along the streets, fighting for what they think is right and what the “beloved” thinks to be wrong."

I was walking along the street sides of Recto when I encountered a flock of people each holding a banner that says “NO TO CON-ASS. NO TO CHA-CHA.”

I really don’t know why but a sudden burst of emotion growled inside me. At first, I abhor those who take part in activities like such, but as I witnessed how they march and shout their throats out just to call the attention of the many “slugs” who remain apathetic despite the very obnoxious works of the abusive men, I realized that they actually shout for the thing that even I hope to achieve.

Student demonstrations are senseless. And the only persons who participate to such are those who do not have any intention to succeed in any means. – These statements are not mine now. A true ironic fact for a person who wants to achieve all out transparency within all the sectors of the society.

Those who think that demonstrations are useless should be ashamed of their pointless thought for they really don’t know how to be Filipinos by heart.

Activists not just shout for nothing. If you would just listen to what they shout, they actually shout a lot of things we often ignore.

Take me personally for example; I am updated to all the happenings around me — in politics, religion, and economics, a bit on human right violations of the higher ups and etc. But in spite the said awareness, for somehow, I had become apathetic to heed the call of our crying nation, most to hear the call for involvement or at least, for concern.

Perhaps a reason for that would be the influence of the community where I belong.

Needless to say, the community where I am in right now is ditched with the modern apolitical culture looming within the path towards complete advancement. Never did I say any specific kind of community [e.g. school, church, baranggay and etc.] so I stand that I mentioned nothing libelous.

It is true that at times Hedonism invades the minds of the blessed keeping up the flame of FILIPINOISM is much in need.

We had lost Cory, the Queen of Philippine Democracy, the Democracy Icon of Asia. The yellow graffiti that fell within the rough road of EDSA had became symbols of total reminisce of the black days of the late Aquino couple. (I supposed not to touch even the simplest detail of the late days of the couple for I haven’t witness any of their inhumane encounters that time, but thanks to Zaide and some other historian who had brought many me to the situations that the couple had been through. Kudos on you.)

Let us not wait another historical figure to die once more before we heed the call of the masses starving for change. Start drawing a difference now!

Biyernes ng Umaga. Bibili sana ako ng isang tinapay na may gakulangot na karne, kapiranggot na gulay at saganang ketsup sa tapat ng isang eskwelahang may kumpirmadong kaso na ng binaboy na sakit. Sa aking pagkadismaya, sarado ang aking paboritong burger-an kaya’t maluha-luha naman akong napatitig sa maaraw na kalangitan. (Gutom na eh!)

Nagdisisyon akong bumili na lamang ng isang tasang kape at biskwit sa malapang-burgis na kantina ng aming paaralan. Malayo-layo rin ang dapat kong lakarin bago ko marating ang darambana ng ikalawa kong tahanan kaya’t nagmadali na rin ako sa paglalakad nang hindi masunog ang aking balat ng matinding sikat ng araw.

Natatanaw ko na ang tutok ng aming paaralan ng aking mapansin ang isang pormadong sulat sa gilid ng daanan. “EDUCATION NOT FOR SALE. GLORIA FOR SALE.”

Papasok na sana ako. Ngunit papasok na talaga ako!

Naisip ko lang. Ilan bang mga bata ang hindi nakakapag-aral sa ngayon? Maswerte ako at nandito ako.

Oo nga naman. EDUCATION is really NOT FOR SALE dahil kung ito’y binibenta, panigurado, di namin ito kayang bilhin. MASYADOng MAHAL — Bibili ka ng sariling teacher. Librong panay mali. Sariling klassrum. Desk. Upuan. At maglalagay ka pa sa bulsa ng mga buwaya — pampadulas at pampataas ng grade.

I am not from an affluent family. Thus, I treasure education as my only “haven” in life.

Nakakapag-aral ako dahil sa ilang kamag-anak na pilit kaming tinutulungan.

Kaya kung ibinibenta ang Edukasyon, naisip ko lang, e di hindi sana over-crowded ang klassrums ngayon. Baka nga dahil sa iilan lamang ang can afford, aalog-alog na lamang sila sa isang klassrum dahil talagang imposible itong mapuno.

Naliligo ako kanina (actually, kasarapan ng paghihilod ko sa mga nangagnuot na libag sa aking braso) nang marinig ko ang balita tungkol sa kwestyonableng pagpanhik-panaog, paroo’t parito ng ating Pangulo sa iba’t ibang bansa.

Hindi malinaw sa akin ang balita dala marahil ng malakas na lagaslas ng tubig mula sa gripo na tumutulo sa aking timba ngunit ang tanging malinaw sa akin ay ang isang isinumeting report na nagsasabing ang halagang nilulustay ng INAMPALAN ay sasapat na upang mapantayan ang pondo ng isang pampublikong paaralang pangkolehiyo dito sa Maynila (PUP).

Nakalulungkot isipin, they compromise education just for a thing that would prove their prowess in nurturing the recessing economy of the country.

Aba! parang field trip lang nangyayari eh. Mag-congressman na lang kaya ako at pakunwari’y susuporta sa pangulo, wow! Trip around the world ang kikitain ko!

Now I understand what the lines “EDUCATION NOT FOR SALE. GLORIA FOR SALE” mean. Kung ita-translate sa Filipino it would be, “HINDI MO NGA NAMAN BASTA BASTA IBIBENTA ANG MGA BAGAY NA MAY HALAGA!”
